How to Post a Youtube Video on Facebook

This 3 minute motion capture dance video from Method Studios, submitted to the 2016 AICP Awards, demonstrates ground breaking animation techniques.

 

There are 2 methods of posting a youtube video on Facebook:

  • Using youtube’s interface.
  • Using Facebook’s interface.
  •  
     

    Using youtube’s interface

    Step 1: Go to youtube.com and navigate to the video you would like to share.

    Step 2: Click on the Share button below the video.

    Step 3: Click on the Facebook button.

    Step 4: A Facebook dialog you should pop up in a smaller window.
    In the dialog you may select:
    – who to post as – yourself/your page
    – where to post to – your timeline/ a friend timeline / a group / your page
    – set the privacy settings for this post.

    Note: if a window doesn’t pop up make sure your browser is allowing popups from youtube.

     
    Step 5: Click Post to Facebook and you are done!

     
     

    Using Facebook’s interface

     
    Step 1: Go to youtube.com and navigate to the video you would like to share.

     
    Step 2: Copy the full url from the address bar, or the tiny url from the share display.

    Step 3: Navigate to the Facebook page where you would like to post.

     
    Step 4: Click on the Write something… and paste the url you copied.

    Step 5: Facebook will populate the dialog with information from the page – such as video name and preview. You may alter the message and select privacy settings.

    Step 6: Click Publish and you are done.

    How to Cut a Video using VLC Media Player – 3 Simple Steps

    VLC media player doesn’t let you cut a video, but it does let you record a section of the video. Below is the step by step of how it’s done.

    1) Launch VLC media player and activate Advanced controls.

    2) Navigate to the point in the video you would like to record and press the record button.

    3) Press the record button again to end the recording, and navigate to Libraries\Videos to find your newly cut file.
